Once upon a time in the world of Wonderland….  Actually, let’s start this over. Deep in the heart of Underland lives plenty of peculiar characters. This place is a whimsical world of nonsense where your journey will continue to get curiouser and curiouser with each passing moment. You will encounter a short-tempered and tyrannical queen trying to rule such an uncontrollable place. You are sure to run into the emotionally unstable and hyper-nutty Mad Hatter who keeps things light-hearted and unexpected. Other inhabitants include the two identical little fat men Tweedledee and Tweedledum who finish eachother’s sentences in rhymes. Chessur the Cheshire Cat is sure to shape-shift into sight to show his seductive tabby grin and leave you alone after he evaporates into the dark.

Mad as a Hatter - Tea Party Tease Costume

Okay, enough with the word play. I had some cosplay fun this past weekend with our Alice in Wonderland costumes walking in the shoes (or should I say boots) of the maddest of hatters. To top things off, I was in the company of the most regal of queens in red. My Tea Party Tease costume let me take on the appearance of a sexy female version of the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland accompanied by the elegance of a regal woman in the Enchanting Queen of Hearts costume. Both high quality Alice in Wonderland costume sets are from Roma costumes and perfect for you next party and Halloween event.

The Tea Party Tease costume I wore consisted of a beautiful crop jacket, black velvet mini skirt, bow tie choker and a matching Mad Hatter style top hat. The black satin torso had a front hook and eye closure and puffy shoulder sleeves. This sexy Mad Hatter costume was such high quality and surpassed my expectations when I first saw it. Just seeing the Tea Party Tease Mad Hatter costume at a glance in the packaging you are able to see that this is one nice costume. I added a teardrop petticoat to add some fluff and frills to the skirt. I think the sexy black pirate boots with the matching Tea Party Tease boot covers really added to the costume. And the mad hatter madness wig from Forever Young was the icing on the cake. That wig truly finished the costume.

Her Majesty of Underland - Red Queen Wig

The Enchanting Queen of Hearts costume exceeded my expectations in quality, material and fit. You will fall in love the high quality look of the black velvet halter top and skirt trimmed with a white quilted material. Three large hearts span vertically up the torso for a signature heart breaking look for the Red Queen. This is a great look for a Valentine’s Day, a regal queen or an Alice in Wonderland queen of hearts costume. The costume accessories offered endless options for this Alice in Wonderland classic character. We decided on the Queen of Hearts Cuffs to wear as bracelets around the wrists, red Mary Jane style shoes, fishnet pantyhose and a beautiful Red Queen Velvet Lady Wig. Let me stop to comment on this Forever Young wig for a quick second. The bright red curls, design, shape and quality of this wig is also out of this world. I highly recommend this Red Queen wig for any Queen of Hearts costume looking for fashionably modern and stylish direction. Forever Young wigs have out-done themselves with this one! We ended the photoshoot with trying on the Gold & Red Mardi Gras Fan Mask. Wow! This really drew attention to the face and helped give the larger-than-life appearance to the Red Queen costume for a 2010 Alice in Wonderland character straight out of the Tim Burton film.

A mix between the classic storybook fairy tale, timeless characters and the new 2010 film by Tim Burton, Alice in Wonderland costumes are sure to be one of my favorite themes for this year’s Halloween parties. A whole crew of new friends and revamps of Alice Kingsley, the Mad Hatter, the Red Queen (Queen of Hearts), her sister the White Queen,  Chessur the grey and blue Cheshire Cat, Tweedle Dee and Dum, Absolum the Caterpillar make up the wondrous world of Wonderland. Take a look at all of our Alice in Wonderland costumes from both the Disney classic cartoon and the new Tim Burton movie.

Quote of the Day: “There is a place. Like no place on Earth. A land full of wonder, mystery, and danger! Some say to survive it, you need to be as mad as a hatter…which luckily I am.” – The Mad Hatter , Alice in Wonderland (2010)
